When more than 40 vibrant older adults boarded the coach for Live Easy Social’s latest day trip, nobody could predict the weather—or the warmth of the laughter and connection that awaited. From Filipino and Vietnamese, to Italian and Hispanic backgrounds, our multicultural group proved that community spirit transcends rain clouds. Here’s how our Wollongong adventure to Sublime Point and Collegians Figtree turned into a celebration of togetherness, resilience, and pure joy.

Discovering Wollongong’s Hidden Gems

Sublime Point Lookout: Perched on the Illawarra Escarpment, Sublime Point treats visitors to sweeping ocean and coastline vistas. Despite misty skies, our group paused at the lookout to have morning tea and snap photos and share stories as the fog rolled in, friendships rolled on.
Collegians Figtree Lunch: After descending the escarpment, participants gathered at Collegians Figtree for a cosy indoor lunch. The club’s welcoming dining room, hearty meals, and warm chatter offered the perfect refuge from the drizzle, turning simple shared plates into moments of connection.
